FIVE ELEMENTS
According to the ancients The Five Elements are related to humans through our sensory organs. Ether, Air, Fire and Water are related to hearing, touch, vision, taste and smell.
Ether, also known as the spirit element, is related to our hearings. According to Einstein , Ether is the celestial energy that fills all spaces, including that found between particles of matter. Though, it doesn’t have a physical presence in Metaphysics it is considered the sacred space in all the universe and beyond. Within us it acts as a conduit between our soul and our physical form. Commitment to a daily practice of meditation , yoga and immersion in nature takes us to a higher level of awareness where we are able to reach beyond and attract the highest form of self-healing.
Water is associate to the sense of taste. The tongue is the only sense organ that is wet. Water is a huge force in life and in our bodies. We are 75% water, which makes us highly susceptible to all that we experience. When we are in water our bodies relax immediately, eliminating all negative emotions, leaving our being in a state of calm and clarity.
Fire is the element that creates transformation, warmth and clarity. Our sun is the most powerful representation of this element. Fire relates to our vision. Walks in the forest at sunrise and meditations at sunset can connect us to its high positive energy. Sacred fire ceremonies can also help purify the body and soul from negative energies.
Earth gives form to the human body. It is about solidity. It is related to the sense of smell and to the nose. What enters through our nose also enters in to our body, mind and consciousness and can alter us physically and emotionally. We use aromas to calm and sooth the mind.
Air is gas and ether combined. It is associated with the sense of the touch. We feel it trough its constant movement. Breathing is the only constant. Without air we die instantly. Stress can cause us to automatically hold our breath, creating a deficiency of oxygen in our bodies. To rebalance we recommend being in a calm, mountain environments and to practice stillness. We also teach breathing exercises that push air through the body and relax the mind.
